Human Coalition Prayer App

Prepared for Human Coalitionby CappitalNovember 2026
01 / Intro

Turn every supporter’s passion into prayer, and every prayer into action.

A new prayer app for Human Coalition, built to grow into the three priorities you’ve named: tell better stories, engage the church, and increase opportunities for generosity.

We built your first prayer app in 2013, and it led to millions of prayers. In the years since, we’ve built apps used by more than 80 million people for PragerU, He Gets Us, Pocket Testament League, and many more.

It starts with prayer. Everything else grows from there.

14M+visitors

We built a new version of the site every night and tested it with hundreds of people the next day. The winner left people more than 50% more curious about who Jesus is than the old site. Then we rebuilt it from scratch in 22 days, before the Super Bowl.

03 / Your first prayer app

Your first prayer app

Where it started, and how we keep the new one available.

Released in 2013

Your first prayer app let supporters and church teams pray for women considering abortion in real time.

1,100+users in the first two weeks
Tens of thousandsof downloads
Millionsof prayers

Why we think the new one stays approved
Prayer apps are common now. There are far more of them in the stores than when your first prayer app launched.
No city in the prayer data. Each request shows a state at most, and it can be made less specific if needed.
A fuller app experience.Daily prayer, stories, church features, and giving add up to the kind of app-worthy experience your first prayer app was faulted for lacking.
Covered, even if an app store says no

We can also build a web version of the app that lives outside the app stores. Supporters add it to their home screen, and it works like the app. Since 2023, iPhones deliver its prayer notifications just like an app’s, with no App Store approval needed. If a store ever pulls the app again, no one has to stop praying.

Works on iPhone, Android, and computers
Sends prayer notifications without app store review
Runs on the same system as the app, so it’s an extension, not a rebuild

04 / What we heard

What we heard

Your goals, as we heard them.

Why a prayer app, again

Your first prayer app did more than make people aware of your work. It put them in a posture to do battle, right where it matters most.

What you want to achieve
01Tell better storiesGive the women you serve a voice, and put their stories in front of more people.
02Engage the churchGive churchgoers a real way in. When the people in the pews lead, church leaders follow.
03Increase opportunities for generosityLet giving grow out of trust, tied to a real story or need.
Why it matters now

You’re working toward $100 million a year in donations, and you see this as strategically and financially important to getting there.

It has to be
“Focused, lasered, and cost-effective”
“Protective of the women we serve”
“Loud about the Human Coalition brand”
05 / What we’ll build

What we’ll build

Your new prayer app: pray first, then take action.

This is the demo we walked through with you on our call. It shows the full vision. The first release starts with prayer and giving, and the rest comes as add-ons you choose. Tap each tab to see the screens.

Pray screen from the demo
PrayTell better stories

A short daily list of women in your region who may be considering abortion. Press and hold a row to pray.

1Stories sit between prayers, shared with permission.
2Each row is a woman in a nearby state.
06 / How we’ll build it

How we’ll build it

A focused path to your first release, and what it takes.

Phase 14–6 weeks
Focused definition and prototypeWe resolve the questions that most affect the build before you commit to it.
What happens in Phase 1
Confirm the main user journeys and what’s in the first release
Interview key stakeholders and review how your team works
Prototype and test the prayer, content, and giving experiences
Define the content model and staff workflows
Confirm payment, notification, privacy, accessibility, and App Store requirements
Deliver the final first-release scope, delivery plan, and proposal

This phase leads directly into the build. It’s more focused than open-ended exploration, in exchange for more confidence in the scope and price.

Phase 28–12 weeks
Build your first releaseOur recommended first release: a fully working app, ready for your supporters. It’s what we think a first release needs, and you can add anything from the menu below (Phase 3).
What’s included
iPhone and Android app
App, backend, database, and admin foundation
Staff logins, permissions, and content tools
A curated prayer feed and prayer details
A focused prayer interaction, finalized in prototyping
Prayer counts
Staff-reviewed outcome updates
Essential push notifications
One-time giving through Stripe checkout
Core analytics
Privacy, accessibility, security, testing, App Store submission, and launch support

Phase 3Now or later
Add more, when you’re readyHere are early cost estimates for features you may want to add, now or later. Use them as a guide. We’ll confirm scope and price together before anything is built.

These are examples, not a complete list. Tell us what else you want, and we’ll scope it. Ranges are early estimates and don’t simply add up, since add-ons can share infrastructure.

In closing

In 2013, we built your first prayer app together. It proved people will pray, and that prayer works as the front door.

Now we get to build what comes next: a focused first release built around prayer and giving, then the stories, church connections, and giving options that serve your priorities most.

We’ve done this with you before, and we’re ready to do it again.
